I know that dealing with insurance is a task most of us hate, but for a valuable asset like your motorhome, getting it right is crucial. A cheap policy might seem like a win, but it can lead to major headaches if you ever need to make a claim. With the market constantly changing, it’s more important than ever to do your homework and find the best, most comprehensive cover.
Windscreen damage is the most common claim, accounting for over two-thirds of issues. The problem is that replacement costs have skyrocketed. For some models, a new windscreen can cost over £10,000. If your policy has a low limit, say £3,000, you could be facing a massive bill. You should always look for a policy with unlimited glass cover to protect yourself.

🚨 Are You Insured Correctly?
A common mistake is buying a standard ‘van’ policy instead of dedicated motorhome or campervan insurance. These policies are for tradespeople and often have very low claim limits and may not cover you in the event of a breakdown due to weight restrictions. Another critical point is being honest about where you store your vehicle. Lying about keeping it on a driveway when it’s on the road can invalidate your policy, as vehicles on the road are far more likely to be stolen or damaged.
