Ingredients

  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Preparation Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, sour cream, granulated sugar, and melted butter until well combined.
  3. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the flour mixture, stirring until a dough begins to form.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for a few minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Roll the dough out as thinly as possible, to about ⅛-inch thickness. Cut the dough into strips or diamond shapes.
  6. In a deep pan or fryer, heat a generous amount of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Carefully place the dough strips into the hot oil and fry until they are golden brown and crispy, turning them to ensure even cooking.
  8. Remove the cooked khrustyky with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  9. Once they have cooled slightly, dust them generously with powdered sugar before serving.
