Discounty Walkthrough – A Guide to Day 20

Day 20 in my Discounty journey was a day of tying up loose ends and making significant progress on the main story goal. I started the day by continuing the Task: Man Overboard! and finally wrapped up the Goal: Operating as a Real Supermarket by dealing with some corporate espionage. It was a pivotal day that set the stage for the next big challenge: earning 8000 shills.

This guide will walk you through the key events of Day 20 and share some of the best tips I’ve learned for making money faster in the game.

🤝 Task: Man Overboard! (continued)

After all the drama of the intervention, I returned to Fisher’s boat. With the boat clean and Fisher feeling better, he was finally out and about again. Speaking with him at this point was a huge step, as it unlocked the second tier of his trade deal. This also officially completed the long-running task.

🕵️ Task: Corporate Espionage (Continued)

With Fisher’s situation resolved, my next objective was to find Tammy and tell her about Barbara’s meddling. This conversation completed the Corporate Espionage task. More importantly, finishing this task also completed the overarching goal, Operating as a Real Supermarket.

My final step was to report back to Derek to let him know the goal was complete. With that, the only thing left to do was to focus on the store and earn enough money to reach the next milestone of 8000 shills.

💰 Tips to Make Money Faster

Waiting to earn a large amount of money can feel like a grind, but I’ve discovered several strategies to speed up the process significantly. Here’s what I recommend focusing on:

  • Posters: Always keep the maximum number of posters up around town. If you can afford it, upgrade them at the Town Hall for a better return.
  • Stock Display: Make sure every item you have in stock is on display. Empty shelves don’t make money.
  • Keep CAR High: A high Customer Attitude Rating (CAR) gives you a bonus to your earnings at the end of the day.
  • Recycle Everything: Don’t throw away cardboard boxes or cans. Recycle them at the center for extra cash.
  • Use Boosters: Use the Appeal booster to upsell items and sell more to a single customer.
  • Store Layout: I arrange my aisles neatly to create the shortest possible path for customers from the shelf to the till. A faster checkout means more customers per day.
