Grounded 2 – 8 Locations for a New Base

Finding the perfect best base locations in Grounded 2 is a common challenge for players. An ideal spot offers great views, easy access to resources, and reliable safety. This guide showcases several fantastic locations discovered across the map, highlighting their unique advantages for building an epic base.

8 Locations

🌳 The Oak Tree Mushrooms

Located near the entrance, the mushrooms on the side of the Oak Tree serve as a natural foundation. It’s possible to build directly on top of them without needing to lay down a floor first. The mushroom caps themselves are aesthetically pleasing, allowing builders to place walls right away.

A ton of great resources are nearby, including stems, weeds, and clay. For food, caterpillars and gnats spawn close by. The main advantage is its aesthetic, but the verticality might not suit every player’s style. It comes down to personal preference, but the location holds potential for an amazing build.

⛰️ The Grassy Rock Vista

A short walk away lies a beautiful grassy rock. Similar to the mushroom spot, it is surrounded by building materials and food sources. The view from this location is incredible. The rock features a natural tiered layout with an upper and lower level, and the grass-covered top makes a perfect space for a garden.

The only potential downside is the presence of mosquitoes and other aggressive creatures in the general area. However, they do not appear to come up onto the rock itself, meaning the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

🍔 The Billy Hog Veranda

Underneath the “A” in the Snackbar sign is a wooden landing outside the Billy Hogs. This area is perfect for impressive bases because it’s so flat and open. It is also surprisingly safe, with very few aggressive creatures spotted on this side.

Builders can place foundations directly onto the landing, which is accessible via the giant spoon. The only catch is that players might have to venture out a bit to gather building materials. While it requires more effort to set up, the end result can be a spectacular base.

🪵 The Picnic Table Posts

At the picnic table, any of the massive wooden posts can support an excellent elevated base. The post to the southeast of the picnic table is particularly notable for its easy access. Players just need to climb a small stalk and jump over to a rope to get up.

It is possible to build directly on the flat top, which is very high and safe. The location is also central to many different biomes. With a caterpillar spawning nearby for food and materials underneath, this spot has a lot of potential.

🧃 The Juice Box Canvas

Still in the picnic table biome, a punch box sits just beneath the tablecloth. All the juice boxes are great building centerpieces because their art adds a pop of color to any base.

A base here cannot be supported horizontally by the box itself, so it must be built from the ground up. Making it to the top of the picnic table provides an incredible high point for exploration and an easy food source from the orb weaver juniors that constantly spawn on the tablecloth.

🪨 The Future-Proof Rock

In the flower bed area, a large, tall rock presents another option. It’s quite high up and very safe, as it’s away from most dangerous patrols, and the nearby bees are non-aggressive. There are plenty of weed stems and grass nearby for building.

A great feature of this spot is its location near the edge of the map, where future content will likely be added. A base here will be in a prime position for exploring new updates. A circular base design built around the rock would look incredible.

🍦 The Ice Cream Cart Clearing

On the outskirts of the map near the ice cream cart is an open, arena-like area. This is one of the most natural-looking places in the game to build a base. It’s quite flat and offers a bunch of sap, grass, and harvestable pine needles.

The area is also on a weevil route, providing a constant supply of food. With a river nearby for clay and gnats, this is a cool and resource-rich area perfect for those who prefer a more natural setting.

✨ Honorable Mention: The Mini Stonehenge

Just off the footpath is a little gem: a miniature Stonehenge made of small rocks. While it’s not immediately clear how a base could be built here, it’s a unique landmark. It would be amazing to incorporate this feature into a back garden or as a special part of a nearby base. Any build that successfully uses this terrain would be truly one-of-a-kind.
