Grounded 2 – How to Improve Performance

Are you dealing with annoying screen tearing or a choppy frame rate while trying to survive in the backyard? I know how frustrating that can be. Before you try anything else, it’s a good idea to double-check that your computer meets the game’s minimum system requirements.

If your PC is up to the task, here are some settings you can tweak to boost your game’s performance.

🖥️ Update Your Graphics Drivers

This is the most important first step! Old drivers can cause all sorts of problems. Visit the website for your graphics card manufacturer (like NVIDIA or AMD) and download the latest drivers. This alone can solve many performance issues.

⚙️ Change to “Fullscreen” Mode

Sometimes, running a game in a windowed mode can use extra resources. In the game’s settings, change the Window Mode to “Fullscreen”. This allows your computer to dedicate all its power to running Grounded.

📉 Lower the Game’s Resolution

Running the game at a high resolution is demanding on your graphics card. Try lowering the in-game resolution. It might not look quite as sharp, but it can give you a major boost in frames per second (FPS).

🎨 Lower Your Graphic Settings

High-quality shadows, textures, and effects look great, but they are very demanding. Go into the graphics settings and lower the overall quality. You can start by trying the “Medium” or “Low” presets.

📊 Cap Your Framerate Limit

If your frame rate is unstable, it can feel jerky. Try lowering the Framerate Limit in the settings. Setting it to a stable number, like 60, can provide a smoother experience than one that constantly jumps between 50 and 80.

💨 Turn Off Motion Blur

Motion blur can make the game look more cinematic, but it can also hurt performance and make some people feel dizzy. Set the Motion Blur option to 0. This will give you a clearer image and might gain you a few extra frames.

👁️ Check Your Field of View (FOV)

A wider Field of View lets you see more of the world at once, but it also means your PC has to render more on screen. Make sure your Field of View is set to 90. Going higher can impact performance.

🖼️ Lower the Render Scale

This setting is a powerful tool. The Render Scale determines the resolution the game is rendered at internally before being scaled to your screen’s resolution. Lowering this value can significantly improve performance, so try dropping it down a bit from 100.
