This guide takes a look at two unique pets from the history of Grow A Garden: the powerful Divine Griffin, a limited-time reward from a past event, and the Tsuchinoko, a fascinating pet that was ultimately scrapped during development.🦅🐍
Table of Contents
The Griffin (Limited-Time Divine Pet)
The Griffin is a majestic Divine-tier pet that was available during the Beanstalk Event. It is a highly valuable companion due to its powerful and unique passive ability that can affect both other pets and your crops.
Availability: The Griffin is a limited-time pet and is no longer obtainable. It could only be acquired with a 1% chance from opening a Skyroot Chest or Exotic Skyroot Chest during its event.
Passive Ability: “Glorious Wings” 🌀
Every 15 minutes, the Griffin’s “Glorious Wings” ability activates, releasing a Cyclone with two powerful effects:
- For Pets: Any pet struck by the Cyclone (including the Griffin itself) will have its ability cooldown advanced by 60-66 seconds, helping you use your other pets’ skills more frequently.
- For Fruits: Any fruit struck by the Cyclone has a 10% chance to gain the Cyclonic mutation.
Advanced Mutation Combos ✨
The Griffin is the key to creating some of the rarest hybrid mutations in the game. If its Cyclone ability applies the Cyclonic trait to a fruit that already has other specific mutations, they will merge into a new, more powerful one:
- Cyclonic + Tempestuous = Maelstrom Mutation
- Cyclonic + Shocked + Static = Stormcharged Mutation
The Tsuchinoko (Scrapped Pet)
The Tsuchinoko is a Rare-tier pet that was planned for the game but was ultimately scrapped and will not be added. Information about it gives us a fun look at content that was in development.
Planned Design: Based on the creature from Japanese folklore, the Tsuchinoko was designed as a stocky, mallet-shaped snake. It was intended to be hatched from the Corrupted Zen Egg.
Planned Passive Ability: “Fat Snake”
If it had been added to the game, the Tsuchinoko’s passive ability would have been “Fat Snake,” which was designed to increase your lucky harvest chance, making it a valuable pet for maximizing crop yields.
