Grow a Garden – A Guide to the Bagel Bunny Pet

During the Cooking Event in Grow a Garden, one of the more common but still sought-after companions was the Bagel Bunny. It was a cute and useful pet that I remember trying to hatch from the special event eggs. While it was classified as a Common pet, its ability made it a nice addition for any player at the time.

The Bagel Bunny was introduced on August 2nd, 2025, as part of the event. Unfortunately for newer players, this pet is no longer obtainable in the game. For a broader look at companions, you can check out my complete guide to pets in Grow a Garden.

How to Get the Bagel Bunny

Back during the Cooking Event, the only way to get the Bagel Bunny was by hatching it from a Gourmet Egg. The odds were pretty favorable, as it had a 50% chance of hatching from each egg you opened.

Appearance

The pet’s appearance is exactly what you’d expect from its name. The Bagel Bunny is a small rabbit that looks like it’s wearing a bagel costume, which also resembles a sandwich.

Passive Ability: Bagels and Carrots

The true value of the Bagel Bunny came from its useful passive trait, “Bagels and Carrots”.

  • Ability: Every 5 to 45 seconds, the Bagel Bunny will eat a carrot, providing a value bonus of over 5 times the normal amount.

In my experience, this passive is very similar to the abilities of the standard Bunny and the Black Bunny pets. The main advantage the Bagel Bunny had was the significantly higher value bonus, which was around 5x per carrot. The mechanic also reminds me of the Panda pet, which eats Bamboo instead of Carrots for its bonus.
