When it comes to pets with unique and powerful abilities in Grow a Garden, the Fennec Fox is in a league of its own. This limited Divine pet, released in the Mega Harvest Update, has one of my favorite abilities in the game: it can copy mutations from other players’ crops and apply them to my own. It’s a true game-changer for mutation farming.

🦊 Appearance
The Fennec Fox has an adorable design that closely resembles the real-life animal. It features the characteristically large, flat ears, four skinny legs, and a very bushy tail. It’s a simple yet effective design that perfectly captures the look of a fennec fox and makes for a very cute companion in the garden.
✨ The ‘Mutation Snatch’ Trait
The Fennec Fox’s passive ability is called Mutation Snatch, and it is incredibly powerful. I’ve used it to get some very rare mutations that would have been difficult to obtain otherwise.
- Every 22 minutes, the Fennec Fox will go to a random fruit in another player’s garden and copy one of its mutations.
- It will then apply that same mutation to a random fruit in your own garden.
- The chance of successfully copying a mutation is lower for mutations with higher multipliers, so it’s harder to copy something like Rainbow than it is to copy Wet.
- Important: The ability cannot apply mutations to plants that you have favorited.
This pet is one of the few that directly interacts with other players’ plots, similar to the Raccoon and the Red Fox.
🥚 How to Obtain the Fennec Fox
The Fennec Fox was a limited-time pet and is currently unobtainable. It was the rarest pet to hatch from the Oasis Eggs during the Mega Harvest Update.

- Obtaining Method: Hatched from an Oasis Egg or a Premium Oasis Egg.
- Hatch Chance: 0.5%.
- Hunger: 35,000.
