The Golden Lab is a dependable Common pet that I’ve found to be surprisingly useful, especially for new players. It was added in Update 1.04.0 and can be hatched from a Common Egg with a 33.33% chance. It has 1,200 hunger and is based on the real-life Labrador Retriever.

🐾 Digging Friend Trait
The Golden Lab’s trait is called Digging Friend. Every 60 seconds, it has a 10% chance to dig up a random seed from the Seed Shop. This is a great passive way to get extra seeds without spending money.
I’ve noticed that higher rarity seeds have a lower chance of being dug up, which is a fair trade-off.

Here’s an interesting fact I discovered: although the Golden Lab and the regular Dog pet come from the same egg with the same hatch chance, the Golden Lab’s trait has a 2x higher chance of succeeding. This makes it the superior choice between the two for farming seeds.
