Based on Japanese folklore, the Kappa was a mythical pet that I found both charming and useful. It was obtainable from the Zen Egg with a 3.5% chance during its event. It was added on July 19th, 2025, and is no longer available.

Its appearance is straight out of myth: a green body, yellow beak, and a turtle shell on its back. With 40,000 hunger, it was a very resilient companion in the garden.
💧 The Water Spirit Trait
The Kappa’s trait, Water Spirit, was fantastic for water-based mutations. It was a key part of my strategy for creating some rare mutation combos.
Here is what the trait did:
- About every 8 minutes and 15 seconds, it would spray water on all fruits within a 21-stud radius, applying the Wet mutation.
- Even better, it had a ~10% chance to upgrade an existing Wet mutation on a fruit to the much more valuable Bloodlit mutation.
✨ Folklore Connection
I thought it was cool that the developers based this pet on an actual yokai from Japanese folklore. In the stories, Kappas are mischievous, child-sized creatures with green skin and a dish on their head to hold water.
