Grow A Garden – A Guide to the Kitsune Pet

In Grow a Garden, some pets are so rare and powerful that they feel truly legendary. The Kitsune is the perfect example. As the very first Prismatic-tier pet in the game, it has one of the most complex and powerful abilities I’ve ever seen. It was a limited pet obtained from the Zen Egg, and it has the lowest hatch chance in the entire game.

This guide will cover the Kitsune’s mythical appearance and its incredible ‘Nine-Tailed Myth’ trait that combines mutation application with crop duplication.

🦊 Appearance

The Kitsune’s design is based on the mythical creature from Japanese folklore. It has a white body with red accents, a red aura around its head, paws, and tails, and most notably, it has nine tails. Interestingly, the in-game model actually has eight tails. According to folklore, a kitsune grows a new tail every century after turning 100, which means this pet is well over 800 years old! It’s a fantastic and detailed design that fits its Prismatic status.

✨ The ‘Nine-Tailed Myth’ Trait

The Kitsune’s passive ability is called Nine-Tailed Myth, and it’s a combination of several powerful effects. It’s similar to the Raccoon’s ability, but with a mutational twist.

  • Every 22 minutes, the Kitsune travels to another player’s fruit.
  • It mutates that fruit with the Chakra mutation.
  • It then duplicates the mutated fruit and gives the copy to you, its owner.
  • There is also a very rare (~1%) chance that it will apply the even more valuable Foxfire Chakra mutation instead.

This ability is absolutely incredible for obtaining rare mutations and crops at the same time.

🥚 How to Obtain the Kitsune

The Kitsune is a limited pet and is currently unobtainable. It was hatched from the Zen Egg during the Zen Event, and it holds the record for the lowest hatch chance in the game.

  • Tier: Prismatic
  • Obtaining Method: Hatched from a Zen Egg.
  • Hatch Chance: 0.08% (a 1 in 1,250 chance).
  • Hunger: 49,999.
