During the Summer Harvest Event and the earlier Twilight Shop, a special Legendary pet was available that I found to be incredibly useful, especially for players who grow ‘Night Type’ crops: the Moon Cat. This limited pet is currently unobtainable, but its powerful abilities make it a valuable collector’s item.
The Moon Cat combines two very useful traits—increasing fruit size and preserving rare plants—making it a fantastic addition to any advanced farming setup. This guide will cover its appearance and its dual-purpose passive trait.
🌙 Appearance
The Moon Cat has a beautiful, otherworldly design. Its body is a mix of lavender and purple, with neon lavender whiskers, mouth, and markings. The inner ears and nose are a soft pink, and it has simple black eyes. It’s a very stylish and unique-looking pet that perfectly fits its lunar theme.
✨ The Moon Cat’s Traits
The Moon Cat has a passive trait that is essentially two abilities in one. I find this combination to be very powerful, especially when paired with the right crops and other pets.
- Moon Nap: Every 70 seconds, the Moon Cat takes a 20-second nap. Any new fruit that starts its growth process within a 20-stud radius during this nap will grow to be 1.5x larger. This is the same as the Orange Tabby’s ability and can be stacked with other size-boosting effects.
- Night Type Preservation: It also gives a 6% chance for Night Type fruits to not be consumed when you harvest them. This is an amazing perk for anyone growing rare Night crops like the Moon Melon.
For the ‘Moon Nap’ ability to work, the fruit must start growing while the cat is napping. This makes it pair very well with pets like the Triceratops or Echo Frogs, which can trigger plant growth. For more on game events, see our guide on the Beanstalk Event.

The Moon Cat is a limited pet and is currently not obtainable. It was available for purchase in the Twilight Shop or as a reward from the Summer Harvest Event.
