The Squirrel is a Mythical pet that I’ve found to be quite useful, especially for its utility with tools. It was added during the Blood Moon Event and can be hatched from a Mythical Egg with a 26.79% chance. It’s a fairly common Mythical pet, making it accessible to many players.

With 15,000 hunger, it lasts a good while, and its appearance is a classic, realistic-looking squirrel with brown fur and a beige underside.
🛠️ Seed Stash Trait
The Squirrel’s passive trait, Seed Stash, has two components that I find very handy:
- It gives a small chance to not consume a use when you are using the Reclaimer tool.
- It also gains additional XP per second, which helps it level up faster than many other pets.
💡 History and Trivia
I learned an interesting piece of history about this pet. The Squirrel used to have an ability that gave a 2.5% chance to keep a seed after planting, which players exploited to duplicate exclusive seeds. The developers changed this to the current Reclaimer-saving ability to fix the exploit, though the seed-saving feature still works on non-exclusive seeds.
