Grow a Garden – Fall Market Event: All 10 New Pets and Abilities

The highly anticipated Fall Market Event is now live in Grow A Garden, and it has introduced a spectacular collection of 10 new and powerful pets for players to collect. From a divine, Void-Touching space squirrel to a mythical owl that can enhance the pets you buy, this event is set to completely shake up the game’s meta.

This guide is your one-stop resource for everything you need to know about these new companions. We’ll cover how to acquire each pet, provide a deep dive into their unique abilities, and explain the game-changing new “Giant” pet mechanic that has just been introduced.

Event Basics and the New “Giant” Pets Mechanic

Before we get to the pets, it’s important to understand how the event works and to learn about the major new feature that will affect the pets you hatch.

How the Fall Market Event Works

The central activity of this event is a server-wide collaborative effort focused on the Fall Bloom Tree (also referred to as Mr. Oakley). Players across the server can contribute different categories of crops (Berry, Leafy, Sweet, etc.) to help the tree grow. This is the primary way you will unlock the ability to purchase the five new shop pets. As an added bonus, every time the server-wide goal is maxed out, the stock in all shops is completely reset, giving you more chances to find rare seeds!

Introducing “Giant” Pets: The New Rainbow

The Fall Market Event has introduced a massive change to the pet system: Giant pets. This new special variant replaces the “Rainbow” pets that could previously be hatched from premium (Robux) eggs.

• What do they do? A Giant hatched pet has its passive ability doubled in effectiveness. For example, a pet that normally gives a 10% size increase would give a 20% increase as a Giant version.
• A New Question: This raises a thrilling new possibility for dedicated pet collectors. We know that any egg has a 1-in-1000 chance of hatching a super-rare Huge pet. The community is now buzzing with the question: can a pet be both Giant and Huge at the same time? If so, the potential power of such a creature would be astronomical.

The Fall Market Shop Pets

These five pets are not hatched from eggs. Instead, you unlock the ability to purchase them from the event shop by contributing to the Fall Bloom Tree a specific number of times.

Chipmunk 🐿️ (Rare)

• Unlock Requirement: 4 contributions to the Fall Tree.
• Ability: Infinite Harvest? The Chipmunk’s passive grants a chance to not consume a Harvest Tool when you use one. For players who have cultivated massive, high-tier plants, the cost of Harvest Tools can add up. By acquiring a full team of powerful Chipmunks, it may be possible to achieve a 100% chance to save your tool, effectively granting you infinite uses.

Red Squirrel 🐿️ (Rare)

• Unlock Requirement: 7 contributions to the Fall Tree.
• Ability: Cooldown Support: The Red Squirrel has a unique support ability: when other “squirrel-type” pets finish using their abilities, it reduces their next cooldown. The amount of time reduced scales with the Red Squirrel’s weight (0.4 seconds per kg). This pet is a must-have for players who plan on using other squirrel pets from this event, like the Chipmunk or the powerful Space Squirrel, as it will make their abilities trigger more frequently.

Marmot (Legendary)

• Unlock Requirement: 10 contributions to the Fall Tree.
• Ability: Find the Treasure: This pet’s ability is reminiscent of the popular Imp from the Fairy Event. The Marmot will burrow into a random mound in your garden, and your task is to find it. Successfully locating it will grant you a special Fall-themed reward. What makes this pet truly powerful is that its cooldown can get as low as two minutes, and it has a chance to burrow again immediately after being found, making it a fantastic source of event-exclusive items.

Sugar Glider (Legendary)

• Unlock Requirement: 13 contributions to the Fall Tree.
• Ability: Mutation Spreader: The Sugar Glider is a powerful tool for mutation collectors. It occasionally glides between three different random fruits in your garden. It copies one mutation from the first fruit and applies it to the second, then copies a mutation from the second and applies it to the third. This is an incredible way to spread valuable mutations across your entire farm without needing multiple mutation-applying pets.

Space Squirrel (Divine)

• Unlock Requirement: 17 contributions to the Fall Tree.
• Ability: Void Touched Applicator: This Divine-tier pet, with its adorable space helmet reminiscent of Sandy Cheeks from Spongebob, has one of the most sought-after abilities in the game. It has a 15% to 25% chance (scaling with weight and age) to apply the incredibly valuable Void Touched (Disco) mutation to a nearby fruit. Given the difficulty of obtaining this mutation otherwise, the Space Squirrel is sure to be one of the most popular and valuable pets from this event.

The Fall Egg Pets

These five pets can only be acquired by hatching the new Fall Egg.

Robin 🐦 (Common)

• Ability: Player Shrinker: The Robin has a fun and simple ability: it decreases the size of your player character. A regular Robin can provide a 10-20% size decrease. The new Giant version, however, can provide a maximum of a 40% size decrease. Having a full team of these could make your character comically tiny!

Badger (Rare)

• Ability: Cracked Mutation: The Badger occasionally digs around your garden and spreads mud. This mud has a chance to apply the Cracked mutation to your fruits, a valuable multiplier that is estimated to be around a 3x to 5x value increase.

Grizzly Bear 🐻 (Mythical)

• Ability: Player Grower & Fall Mutation: The Grizzly Bear is the counterpart to the Robin. Its “Mighty Bear” passive increases the size of your player character, maxing out at a 16% increase for a regular bear. The Giant version doubles this to a massive 32% size increase. In addition to making you bigger, the bear also has a chance to apply the exclusive Fall mutation to your crops.

Barn Owl 🦉 (Mythical)

• Ability: The Ultimate Pet Enhancer: The Barn Owl is arguably one of the most useful pets in the entire event for long-term progression. It has a two-part passive:
  1. It increases the base weight of any pet you purchase directly from a shop, adding up to 0.4 kg to its starting weight (capping at a total of 3 kg of added weight from multiple owls).
  2. It increases the XP gained by all Fall-type pets. This pet is an absolute game-changer, allowing you to start with much more powerful shop pets. Farming for a team of Barn Owls should be a top priority for any serious player.

Swan 🦢 (Divine)

• Ability: The New Mimic & Graceful Mutation: The Swan is the Divine pet from the Fall Egg, and its ability is meta-defining. Its “Swan Song” passive allows it to occasionally go to another player’s pet, befriend it, and perform its ability. This is incredibly powerful, essentially acting like a Mimic Octopus that can copy the abilities of pets you don’t even own. Furthermore, the Swan will also occasionally apply the Graceful mutation to your crops, which is a massive x77 value multiplier. With a minimum cooldown that could potentially reach 12 minutes (and perhaps even lower for a Huge or Titanic version), the Swan has the potential to become one of the most powerful and sought-after pets in the entire game.
