Each of these companions brought a unique and powerful ability to the gardens of players who were lucky enough to hatch them. The Pterodactyl (Prehistoric Event)
The Pterodactyl is a Mythical pet that could be hatched from a Dinosaur Egg with a 3% chance during the Prehistoric Event. It’s a versatile pet that benefits both the player’s mobility and their crops.
Dual Passive Abilities
The Pterodactyl is unique for having two separate passive abilities that are always active:
- Air Time: This provides a constant +14.39% increase to your character’s jump height, allowing you to get around your garden more easily.
- Sky Reptile: This ability occasionally activates, applying the Windstruck mutation to approximately four nearby fruits. It also has a chance of over 19% to apply the Twisted mutation at the same time.
Creating the Tempestuous Mutation ✨
The Pterodactyl is the key to creating one of the game’s most valuable mutations. If the “Sky Reptile” ability successfully applies both the Windstruck and Twisted mutations to a single fruit at the same time, they will merge and become the powerful Tempestuous mutation, which grants a 19x value bonus.
The Dilophosaurus (Prehistoric Event)
Based on its iconic appearance in the Jurassic Park franchise, the Dilophosaurus is a Mythical pet that could be hatched from a Primal Egg with a 3% chance. Its ability is focused entirely on buffing your other pets.
Passive Ability: “Frilled Reptile”
Approximately every 13-14 minutes, the Dilophosaurus activates its “Frilled Reptile” ability, spitting venom that spreads to a few of your other random pets (capped at 5). Each pet hit by the venom will receive one of two possible random buffs:
- A reduction to their ability cooldown by ~41 seconds.
- A direct grant of ~370-570 XP.
This ability can be enhanced with Small and Medium Toys, which improve its cooldown, the number of pets it spreads to, and the power of the cooldown/XP buffs.
The Axolotl (Summer Event)
The Axolotl is a Mythical pet that could be hatched from an Oasis Egg with a 15% chance during the Summer Event. Its appearance is based on the popular cyan axolotl from Minecraft.
Passive Ability: Free Replants 🌱
The Axolotl’s passive is simple but incredibly effective for farming specific types of crops.
- Effect: It provides a ~7% chance that a Summer-type fruit will not be consumed after you harvest it. This essentially gives you a free, automatic replant, saving you time and seeds.
It’s important to note that the chance of this ability activating is lower for rarer crops.
