Guide to the New Honda CB 125 Hornet Launch

Honda just launched its latest motorcycle for the Indian market, the CB 125 Hornet, and it’s clear they are targeting today’s youth. I had a chance to look it over, and it’s a naked sports motorcycle with an aggressive street-fighter design that looks savage and comes packed with modern features.

The highlight for me, and a huge deal for this segment, is the inclusion of an upside-down (USD) front fork. This is a feature usually reserved for more premium bikes, and seeing it here is a strong statement from Honda.

The company claims this is the quickest bike in its segment, and it’s positioned to be a very competitive offering.

✨ Key Features and Technology

Beyond the impressive USD fork, I noted several other noteworthy features that make the Hornet stand out. It comes equipped with single-channel ABS, a five-step adjustable rear shock, and 17-inch color-coded alloy wheels. These are solid hardware specs for a 125-cc bike.

On the tech front, it gets a 4.2-inch TFT display and a Type-C USB charging port, which are great modern conveniences. It also supports Honda’s Roadsync app for connectivity, allowing for features like turn-by-turn navigation. This level of tech integration is becoming a standard expectation, much like how users expect to be able to easily transfer files between their devices.

🚀 Engine and Performance

The Hornet is powered by a 125-cc engine that produces 11.14 hp and 11.2 Nm of torque, delivered through a five-speed transmission. Honda is making a bold claim that it can sprint from 0 to 60 km/h in just 5.4 seconds.

If that number holds up in real-world testing, it will indeed be the quickest in its class. I think this performance, combined with its aggressive looks, will be a major draw for young riders looking for a thrilling yet manageable motorcycle.

🎨 Color Options and Availability

The CB 125 Hornet will be available in four striking color options, including a Pearl Siren Blue with Lemon Ice Yellow that I found particularly eye-catching. The other options are Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Siren Blue with Athletic Blue Metallic, and Pearl Siren Blue with Sports Red.

As of my initial look, prices have not yet been revealed, but Honda has confirmed that bookings will open in August 2025. I believe the final price will be the deciding factor in how much of a disruptor this bike will be, but from what I’ve seen, it has all the makings of a hit.
