If you’ve been struggling with the high difficulty of Insane mode in Knightica, this guide is for you. Beating the game’s toughest challenge is a major accomplishment, similar to unlocking all achievements in other games. Based on my experience and a reliable community strategy, I’ve put together a walkthrough using a specific Cleric build that can consistently get you through the early and mid-game, setting you up for victory.
Table of Contents
Preparation
This strategy requires a specific start to get the ball rolling.
- Hero: Cleric
- Starting Trinket: “starts with a shop full of uncommon troops”
Important Note: For this build, it is highly recommended to avoid all Elite monster battles, as they are extremely difficult and not worth the risk. Instead, I’ve found it’s best to prioritize paths with Taverns and Enchantment Merchants.
World 1 Strategy
Your main goal in the first world is to build a core of supercharged Mages.
- Initial Troops: From your starting shop, your top priority is to get 1 Mage and 2 Mana Blobs (the ones that give XP). Position the Mage so it is buffed by both blobs; this will cause its attack stat to grow incredibly fast.
- Building a Frontline: After your first fight, buy two squads of the “little robots” and place them on your frontline. If you see Dryads in the shop, buy them as well for additional defense.
- Invest for Later: Buy a Wisp and place it anywhere on your board. As you have spare gold, slowly level it up to Level 4. This will be a surprise tool for a later boss.
With this setup, your supercharged Mages should have no problem melting the World 1 boss, the Spider.
World 2 Strategy
In the second world, you’ll continue to scale your Mages while preparing for the late game.
- Transition to Priests: The most important step in this phase is to start looking for Priests. As you find them, begin replacing your Dryads.
- Add More Scaling: If you find a Princess, buy one and position her to grant additional XP to your Mages. You can also merge your two Mana Blobs into a single, higher-level one to save space.
- Find Your Late-Game Carry: Start looking for your main damage dealers for the final stages: a King and a Legendary Warrior.
- Boss Preparation: Right before the World 2 boss fight, sell the Wisp you have been leveling up. It should grant a massive stat boost of 100+ to another unit, making the boss fight much easier.
World 3 Strategy
This is where the game gets dangerous, and your focus shifts entirely to buffing your new main damage dealer.
- Upgrade Priority: Your focus should now be on upgrading your troops in this order: King, Priests, Paladins, Legendary Warrior, and finally your Mages.
- Scale Your King: The key to victory is making your King incredibly powerful. To do this, try to end every turn with at least 8 gold so you can use his money-spending ability to boost his stats. By the middle of this world, your King’s stats should be higher than your Mages’.
- Survive the Waves: Enemies will start to hit very hard and may break through your frontline. Your Mages and King will likely be your last units standing and should have enough damage to clean up the rest of the wave.
- Final Boss: Buy another Spirit after the World 2 boss and sacrifice it just before the final fight with the Dark Mage for one last stat boost.
This strategy might take a few tries, but it provides a reliable path through the first two worlds, giving you the foundation you need to secure a victory on Insane mode.
