This guide, based on the original work by Steam user VALIANT, provides an overview of the upcoming character banners for the first half-year of “Mecharashi.” The analysis is based on a year of experience from the Taiwanese server and is intended to help you plan your Arashium spending.

Sylvia Russell / Dread Talon

Summary
Sylvie is the best beginner friendly sniper that you can get early game. With her 5 movement (with backpack) + 4 attack range that makes her extremely mobile around the battlefield. Her train is that while holding a hand shield on one hand, her attacks will automatically enter sniping mode. This gives her a huge advantage on the battlefield that can be very tactical on destroying enemy parts. In the early game with enough investment (ascension and ST qualities). You can one shot pretty much all the enemy ST in the early to mid game. But due to the scaling of enemies health in the later chapter, it will be more difficult to one shot enemies which her powerlevel drops off dramatically. However, she is still a force to be reckon with for her usefulness in the “Signature Weapon” game mode.
Author’s Verdict
A solid T1 character. The Dread Talon is an average Light ST, but its module “Overlord Positioning” is considered the most versatile module in the game and is Best-in-Slot (BiS) for many pilots.

Summary
Elieen, one of the must have T0 character in the first year. What makes her an overpowered character is her unique ability to fire Inferno missiles (AOE) that leaves fire effect on the ground for 2 turns and damage anyone who walk past it with a flat 12% damage. With her Malthus ST with the highest quality trait, her AoE attack can even reduce enemy movement by 1 when hit with 3+ targets. Makes her a crazy damage dealer and also the ability to burn bosses or elites before they can even attack.
Author’s Verdict
A “must-have.” It’s recommended to get 3 ascensions for her improved trait, but she is extremely strong regardless. The Malthus ST is a must for her, preferably upgraded to Rainbow quality.
Camilla / Dragon Bird

Summary
Camilla is a niche fighter, her usefulness comes with her 2 abilities “Taunt” and “To the death”. A few bosses fight will be so much easier with Camilla around to trivialize the mechanics, certain difficulties she is arguably required. Her signature move “To the Death” makes her a scary presence in the Arena too, if anyone is being caught by that it’s pretty much an instant KO. However, she’s kinda overshadowed by Hong due to Hong can reliably hit chest parts with her 2 abilities that can one shot enemies much easier.
Author’s Verdict
Not recommended for F2P players as she is rarely used in story mode. However, she is extremely useful in certain boss fights, to the point you may wish you owned her. Borrowing a maxed-out one from a guildmate for these fights is a viable strategy.

Summary
Erisa is another niche pilot just like Camilla. Her unique trait is a Raid class that could leave fire ground effect just like Elieen. But because she is a Raid class, her damage is out-shined by better Raid pilots, well actually all of the vanilla Raid pilots deals more damage in normal scenarios. However, just like Camilla, she can be extremely useful when fighting difficult boss fight due to her flat 12% damage on the ground fire effects, which is deadly to some immobile boss.
Author’s Verdict
Same reasoning as Camilla; a niche pilot who excels in specific, difficult boss fights but is outclassed in general scenarios.

Another T0 Mechanics on top with Melissa. Although she is not the best healer in the game, but her unique ability “Tactical Reset” gives one teammates an extra turn. Which allows all kinda of crazy combo that can shorten your overall turns in all game mode. Even after 1 and half year later. Her meta is still dominating in the boss fight or arena. The best thing? You only need 1 copy of her to get the best out of her.
Author’s Verdict
Her “Tactical Reset” ability defines her meta presence. It is strongly suggested that every player get at least one copy of her. For F2P players, Melissa may be a higher priority as she is more well-rounded, but Lorna is essential for many team compositions.

Summary
Kelly, with the nick name of Queen Kelly. In the first year, she is definitely the best Sniper available. Due to her kit, she could deals massive amount of damage in a turn with proper setup. Imagine Dana on crack. As most of the powerhouse pilots, Kelly’s true potential requires high ascension with her improved traits and extra AP. Rex as her ST is a perfect ST designed for her.
Author’s Verdict
The best sniper in the game for the first year. Once maxed out, she can deal massive damage per turn with multiple attacks.

Summary
First limited Tank in the banner, unfortunately in Mecharashi, tank is very underpowered due to the nature of the game design. Most of the game mode, players are rewarded for completing objectives within the shortest turn possible. Most of the game mode will gives a better reward for shorter turn, some achievement can only be acquired when you are under 6 turns. This design philosophy encourages players to deal most damage possible that leaves tanks out of job. So tanks only kinda thrive in certain boss fight or in Arena which means they are not really necessary. Tiphys has a unique trait available. He is a counter to Elieen or any other long range Tactician. So due to this nature, he is only a T2 character.

Summary
A tactician that uses Railgun as her main weapon. She is another niche character that does not provide enough damage to justify her role compared to other Tacticians. Even Shawnee does more reliable damage than her. However, with the introduction of her signature weapon, she becomes a very useful niche pilot that can reliably immobilize bosses or elites. Which is extremely useful in some boss fight!
Author’s Verdict
Not recommended to pull for now. However, after her signature weapon is released, obtaining one copy of her is recommended for her niche utility.

Summary
What can I say, a new weapon type Chainsaw as his weapon. He still underperforms compared to other solid fighter such as Hong and Gumisay. because he does not have a reliable way to aim at the chest part. His mech Ranger’s module is quite good for any pilot uses a single weapon that provides a flat 20% damage buff.
Author’s Verdict
Not recommended. The author notes that even after a year and a half on the Taiwanese server, they have not seen a single guide that features Dean.
Finally, EVA x Mecharashi. In the first year and half, she is a tier of her own. In most of the guide online in a lot of the frontal trial or clear ops, every guide out there features her to have the shortest turn possible. Her Javelin throw and leap attack kinda replaced Hong and Shawnee that makes her the best fighter that aims at chest. Her mech Dawnbreaker 02 is also one of the best light ST that is so versatile many pilots can all benefits from it. Asuka is definitely the pilot that you should save your pulls for.
Ayanami Rei / Dawnbreaker – 00 (EVA Collab)

Summary
Another EVA x Mecharashi character. Rei with her Dawnbreaker – 00 is the best tank in the game no question about it. It’s crazy how this event brings best characters into the game both outperforms everyone else in their class. However, even though Rei is a great tank that can immune to flat % damage and can guard teammates regardless of the distance. She still suffers the ultimate flaw that she is a protector class. So her usefulness is limited in niche boss fight. There is an area where she shines though, PVP. In pvp arena, Rei is definitely the most annoying tank around any composition. She can alot of the times ruin your day by melee tanking and teleport guarding attack that mess up your entire game plan.
Author’s Verdict
A solid T1 tank and the best in the game, but still suffers from the “tank syndrome” where protectors are not necessary for most content. She shines and is extremely annoying in PvP Arena.
