Priscilla Presley Denies Allegations Over Lisa Marie Presley’s Death Amid $77 Million Lawsuit
With a multimillion-dollar fortune at stake, the Presley family has become no stranger to the courtroom. Recently, matriarch Priscilla Presley faced shocking allegations in a new lawsuit concerning the death of her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley — claims she strongly denies.
The lawsuit, filed by former business associates Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko of Priscilla Presley Partners, claims they suffered significant financial losses due to a behind-the-scenes power struggle over the family trust. They are seeking damages of at least $77 million.
Priscilla’s lawyer, Marty Singer, described the complaint as “shameful, ridiculous, salacious and meritless,” adding, “Accusing a grieving mother of contributing to her daughter’s death is not savvy advocacy; it is malicious character assassination and should be broadly condemned.”
Lisa Marie Presley passed away on January 12, 2023, at the age of 54 after suffering a cardiac arrest at her home. The lawsuit alleges that Priscilla was aware of her daughter’s plan to remove her as sole trustee of the trust and claims she “pulled the plug within hours of Lisa being admitted,” contrary to Lisa Marie’s wishes.
The lawsuit further states, “Priscilla knew that Lisa’s death neutralized the threat of Lisa’s efforts to have Priscilla removed as the sole trustee of her life insurance trust, and Priscilla ultimately wanted to control the Promenade Trust and Graceland.” Allegedly, Priscilla was heard saying afterward, “I’m the queen. I’m in charge of Graceland.”
However, an autopsy report confirmed that Lisa Marie’s death was from “natural causes” with “no evidence of injury or foul play.”
This is not the first legal dispute between the parties. Kruse and Fialko initially sued Priscilla in October 2023 for breach of contract, and last year, Priscilla filed her own lawsuit against them, claiming fraud and financial elder abuse.
Singer emphasized, “This is nothing more than a sad and vicious attempt to falsely tarnish the reputation of an 80-year-old woman in blatant retaliation. These fabricated claims have absolutely no validity, and we are confident this case will be dismissed.”
Kruse and Fialko’s lawyer argued, “The real victims are my clients, who invested millions and years of hard work into revitalizing Priscilla Presley’s brand, only to be betrayed and falsely accused.”
Following Lisa Marie’s death, Priscilla questioned the validity of a 2016 amendment to Lisa Marie’s will that removed her and her former business manager as co-trustees, transferring control to Lisa Marie’s daughter, Riley Keough. The matter was settled in June 2023, with Riley named the sole trustee in exchange for a lump-sum payout.
Riley Keough has publicly supported her grandmother, stating, “All she wants is to love and protect Graceland and the Presley family and the legacy. That’s her whole life.”
Despite legal battles, Riley emphasized that the family bond remains strong. “We are a family, but there’s also a huge business side to our family, so I think that is where clarity needed to be had. Things with Grandma will be happy. They’ve never not been happy,” she told Vanity Fair.
