The New Gloves: Retribution and Architect
Two brand-new gloves have been added to the game, each with a unique and intriguing ability.
The Architect Glove: The Deadly Trap
- Power: 55
- Speed: 16
- Ability: Evil Box (E)
The Architect glove is a powerful, high-risk, high-reward tool for players who can master its tricky positioning. Its ability, “Evil Box,” allows you to instantly trap a nearby player inside a deadly, enclosed box. After a few moments, the box disappears, eliminating the player caught inside.
Strategic Analysis: This is a fantastic new glove for instantly eliminating a single, high-priority target, such as a player with a powerful one-shot glove or someone who is dominating the server. However, it comes with a major downside: you can easily trap yourself in your own box.
The ability appears to spawn around your target, and if you are standing too close to them when you activate it, you will be caught inside as well. This requires precise spacing and timing, making the Architect a high-skill glove for players who can learn to use its deadly power from a safe distance.
The Retribution Glove: The Great Unsolved Mystery
- Power: 50-80
- Speed: 15-17
- Abilities: Victim’s Judgment (E) & Forgive and Forget (R)
The second new glove, Retribution, is one of the most enigmatic additions to the game in recent memory. It features two separate abilities, “Victim’s Judgment” and “Forgive and Forget,” which seem to have a complex interaction that is not immediately obvious.
As of the first day of the update, the exact function of the Retribution glove is a complete mystery to the community. It appears to be a new “puzzle” glove, one that will require players to experiment and work together to uncover its true purpose and power.
What triggers its high-power state? What is the effect of “forgiving” a player? These are the questions that the community is currently working hard to solve. We will update this guide as soon as the secrets of the Retribution glove are discovered!
The Ultra Instinct Rework: A Complete Mechanical Breakdown
The biggest and most impactful change in this update is the complete rework of the Ultra Instinct Mastery glove. The old version has been replaced with a much deeper and more strategic new system that revolves around a visible “Dodge Chance” meter.
The New Dodge Chance Meter
The core of the new Ultra Instinct is a visible meter that displays a percentage-based chance to automatically dodge any incoming slap. This meter is your new resource, and managing it is the key to mastering the glove.
How to Charge and Maintain Your Dodge Chance
Your Dodge Chance is comprised of two parts: a permanent base value and a temporary bonus value that you must actively maintain.
- Base Dodge Chance: You gain a permanent +3% dodge chance for each “counter” you successfully completed during the original quest to unlock the glove. This is your starting value in every life.
- Bonus Dodge Chance: You can temporarily increase your dodge chance by going on the offensive. You will gain +1% dodge chance for every player you successfully slap.
- The 70% Cap: Your total dodge chance (base + bonus) cannot exceed a maximum of 70%.
- The Drainage Mechanic: This is the most crucial part of the new system. The bonus dodge chance you gain from slapping other players is not permanent. It will begin to drain away at a rate of 0.4% per second, but only after 6 seconds have passed since your last successful slap. This new mechanic rewards a hyper-aggressive playstyle. To keep your dodge chance high, you must constantly be in the fight, landing a slap on an opponent at least once every 6 seconds to reset the decay timer.
The New “E” Ability and Visual Cues
The powerful special ability of the Ultra Instinct glove has also been changed.
- The “E” ability now requires a minimum of 60% total dodge chance to be activated. If you are below this threshold, the game will inform you that “your instincts are not yet strong enough.”
- Using the “E” ability will now consume all of your bonus dodge chance, immediately resetting you back to your permanent base percentage. This makes the ability a powerful but strategic choice that you must re-earn through combat.
- The glove also has a new “Goku aura” visual effect that will appear around your character when your dodge chance exceeds 65%, serving as a clear visual warning to all other players that you are at your peak power and are extremely difficult to hit.
The Sleep Glove Buff and New Codes
A hilarious and potentially powerful new buff has been given to an old favorite.
The Rolling Sleeper
The Sleep glove has a new trick. While you are using its ability and are asleep on the ground, you can now slowly roll by holding a movement key.
The longer you hold the key and continue to roll, the faster your rolling speed will accelerate. The developers have confirmed that this acceleration is uncapped, meaning you could potentially achieve ludicrous speeds if you can roll uninterrupted for a long time.
New Codes to Try
To celebrate the update, here are two new codes for you to try in-game for some free rewards.
