In Steal a Brainrot, you can increase the value of your Brainrots with two types of special modifiers: Mutations and Traits. It’s important to know the difference between them:

- Mutations are permanent, singular modifiers. A Brainrot can only have one Mutation.
- Traits are temporary, stackable modifiers. A Brainrot can have multiple Traits, which are applied during random in-game events.
Mutations (Permanent, Single Modifier)
Mutations are a permanent change to a Brainrot that multiplies its value. A Brainrot can only have one mutation at a time.
Current Mutations
These mutations are currently obtainable in the game.
| Mutation | Multiplier | Appearance |
| Gold | 1.25x | Makes the Brainrot a solid yellow/gold color. |
| Diamond | 1.5x | Makes the Brainrot a solid blue/diamond color. |
| Rainbow | 10x | The Brainrot slowly cycles through all colors of the rainbow. |
| Lava | 6x | Gives the Brainrot an orangish-red color. (Limited Time) |
Old (Unobtainable) Mutations
These mutations were from past limited-time events and can no longer be obtained naturally.

| Candy | 4x | Makes the Brainrot a pink color. |
| Bloodrot | 2x | Gives the Brainrot a dark red color. |
| Celestial | 4x | Appearance is unknown. |
Traits (Temporary, Stackable Modifiers)
Traits are temporary modifiers that are randomly applied to Brainrots on the conveyor during special in-game events. A Brainrot can have multiple traits at once.
Randomly Occurring Traits
These traits are applied during events that can happen randomly in a server.

| Rain | 2.5x | Makes the Brainrot look wet and drip water. |
| Snow | 3x | The Brainrot has frost particles around it. |
| Starfall | 3.5x | Gives the Brainrot a sparkly aura. |
Admin-Spawned Traits
These traits are typically only applied during events started by a game administrator.

| Firework | 6x | Gives the Brainrot a firework aura. |
| Nyan cat | 6x | Gives the Brainrot a rainbow trail. |
| Glitch | 5x | Makes the Brainrot look glitchy. |
| Tung attack | 5x | Gives the Brainrot glowing red eyes. |
| Concert | 5x | The Brainrot occasionally shoots out streaks of light. |
| Lunar | 4x | Gives a purple aura around the Brainrot. |
| Crab | 4x | Gives the Brainrot crab arms. |
| Taco | 4x | Gives the Brainrot a taco on its head. |
| 10B | 4x | Gives the Brainrot a “10B” symbol on its head. |
| Bubblegum | 3x | Gives the Brainrot a bubblegum helmet. |
