Stick It to the Stickman – How to Manually Create and Load Save Files

As someone who loves playing Stick It to the Stickman, I’ve often wanted to start a new playthrough for speedrunning or to have a separate file for playing with friends without overwriting my original progress. Currently, the game doesn’t have a built-in feature for multiple save slots, but I’ve found a manual workaround that lets you manage different save files.

How to Manually Create and Load Save Files

How to Create a New Save (Backing Up Your Progress)

This process involves making a copy of your current save file and then resetting the game to start a new one.

Step 1: Find Your Save Folder

Your game’s progress is stored in a folder named GameData. You can find it by pressing Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog box and entering the following path: %userprofile%\appdata\locallow\Free Lives\Stick It To The Stickman

Step 2: Back Up Your Current Save

Once you’ve located the save folder, copy the entire GameData folder and paste it in the same directory. Rename the copied folder to something you’ll remember, like GameData_MainStory or GameData_MyName. This is now your manual backup.

Step 3: Reset Your Progress In-Game

After you have confirmed that you’ve made a backup copy of your save, launch Stick It to the Stickman. Go to the Settings menu and select the option to Delete Progress. This will wipe your active save and allow you to start a fresh playthrough.

How to Load a Backed-Up Save

When you want to switch back to one of your previously backed-up saves, follow these steps.

Step 1: Go to Your Save Folder

Navigate back to the save folder using Windows Key + R and the path from before: %userprofile%\appdata\locallow\Free Lives\Stick It To The Stickman

Step 2: Restore Your Old Save

First, you’ll need to deal with the current GameData folder. If you want to keep the progress from your current session, rename it to something else (e.g., GameData_NewRun). If you don’t care about it, you can delete it.

Next, find the backup folder you wish to load (e.g., GameData_MainStory) and rename it back to exactly GameData. The next time you launch the game, it will load this progress.

Disclaimer: This method involves directly manipulating your game files and can be risky if not done correctly. Please make sure you back up your save folder carefully before proceeding. Follow these steps at your own risk.
