The King is Watching: A Complete Guide to Kingdom Infrastructure

The infrastructure of the kingdom consists of unique buildings. It’s hard to unite them under a single category, as they are all unique and provide interesting—or not so interesting—functions.

Arena

It is best to place the Arena near a Hospital or a Crystal Castle (at least that’s how I played). It costs 300 wood to build and gives 25 units of morale when you look at it. The effect does not stack, so there is no point in building more than one. Improvements:

  1. Bets on Battles: Generates 1 gold every 3 seconds while active.
  2. Increased Morale: Gives an additional 15 morale.

Tesla Tower

This is a mandatory tower if you are using an oil-based economy. It costs 100 silver bars and 50 oil. It attacks enemies with chain lightning every 5 seconds, consuming 5 oil per attack for 100 damage. If you have plenty of oil, you will consistently inflict damage. It only works while you are looking at the tower. Upgrades:

  1. Attack Speed: Increases attack speed by 40%.
  2. Additional Discharge: Lightning makes one additional jump.
  3. Damage: Increases damage dealt by 40%.

Buddhist Temple

This tower does literally nothing and is extremely useless until you upgrade it. Its entire purpose lies in its passive upgrades, meaning you won’t need to look at it for it to work. It costs 30 water to build. Upgrades:

  1. Productivity Boost: Increases all productivity by 5%.
  2. Warrior Damage Boost: Increases damage of all warriors by 10%.
  3. Spell Damage Boost: Increases spell damage by 10%.

Hospital

A very good tower that heals a random fighter every second while you look at it. It costs 280 wood to build. Two or three hospitals are enough to make tanks nearly invulnerable. At low threat levels, a single hospital can often handle all the healing by itself. Improvements:

  1. Master Healers: Heals for 50% more.
  2. Masters of Morale: Provides 4 morale for each working hospital.

Sacrificial Stone

This building is only needed in runs where you are using Black Sheep; otherwise, there is no point in building it. It costs 100 wood, 90 clay, and 30 gold. It sacrifices a lamb every 50 seconds, and for each sacrifice, you receive a random spell. Improvement:

  1. Production Speed: Increases productivity by 25%.

Performance Hall

This building accelerates the production speed of all buildings under your gaze by 20%. It costs 200 wood and 100 gold to build. Improvements:

  1. Music for the Body: Passively gives 3 units of morale.
  2. Music for the Soul: Increases combat skill by 6 while active.

Cell Enchanter (Legendary)

Enchants a cell, increasing the productivity of the building on it by 50%. It can be placed directly on an existing building to enchant its cell, but it will be 50% more expensive. It has a 15-second cycle.

Cell Enchanter (Epic)

This is the same as the legendary version, but it increases production by only 35%, and its construction cost is 100 crystals and 100 gold.

Cell Enchanter (Common)

Another variation that increases production by 20% for a construction cost of 100 gold.

Brick Factory

When I first started the game, I thought this was a dubious building. However, you should perceive the castle’s durability as a resource for combat. Waves can be passed much more easily and with minimal cost if you first let enemies reach the castle, and then release your soldiers on them. (By the way, it’s better not to do this with bosses!) The building costs 70 wood and 70 clay and repairs your castle for 3 clay every 4 seconds. Improvements:

  1. Fortifications: When the castle is at full durability, the building accumulates charges. When it reaches 20 charges, they are spent, and the castle’s maximum durability increases by 1 (up to a maximum of 100).
  2. Repair Speed: Increases repair speed by 100%.

Magic Sphere

Increases spell damage by 50% while you look at the sphere. The buff can only be given by one sphere, so there is no need to build more than one. It costs 200 gold and 200 silver. Improvements:

  1. More Spell Damage: Increases spell damage by an additional 30%.
  2. Witchcraft: Increases damage dealt to spellcasters by 15%.

Wheel of Fortune

So-so… it’s better to produce what you need here and now. This creates a small set of random resources every 110 seconds while you look at the wheel. It costs 100 gold to build. Improvement:

  1. Production Speed: Increases production by 25%.

Tavern

Gives 10 units of morale while you are looking at it. The effect does not stack, so building more than one is pointless. It costs 150 wood and 200 water. Improvement:

  1. Increased Morale: Gives an additional 5 units of morale.

Fairy Fountain

This works even if you are not looking at it and randomly produces any resource every 10 seconds. This is many times better than the Wheel of Fortune because it doesn’t require your gaze and works much faster. It costs 400 water and 90 gold. Improvements:

  1. Production Speed: Increases production by 25%.
  2. Anti-Goblin Powder: Deals 15 damage to enemies with each production cycle.

Infrastructure of the Kingdom Part 2

Monument to the Royal Gaze

Neighboring buildings will start working even if you don’t look at them. However, for this building to work, you need to look at it. This requires strategic placement. I personally put it in a corner of my view, next to barracks or cannons, allowing the rest of my gaze to focus on resource buildings while just one tile covers this monument. It costs 200 crystals, 500 gold, and 100 silver.

Dragon Bakery

This building bakes one of your Flour Dragons and turns it into a much stronger Ash Dragon. The cost of construction is 10 wheat and 50 oil, and the baking cycle is 59 seconds. It turns your “snow whites” into killing machines. Improvements:

  1. Production Speed: Increases productivity by 30%.
  2. Magic Scales: Gives 100 crystals after baking a dragon.

Execution block

In my opinion, this is the most useless infrastructure building. It costs 120 wood and destroys one of your recruit units to give you denarii. Imagine your best assassin, who could be tanking a boss, getting destroyed by this building by mistake. My assassins often have nearly 1000 health by the end of the game, making this a terrible trade. Improvements:

  1. Large Rewards: Get 2 additional denarii for executing units.
  2. Inspiration: Passively increases damage and health of all recruits by 5%.

Cannon

A strong competitor to the Tesla Tower. I passed the 1st and 3rd threats using cannons. It spends fuel to create cannonballs and then fires them when enemies appear. It only works if you are looking at the cannon. It deals 100 damage and costs 50 silver, 50 oil, and 250 water to build. The production of cannonballs consumes 4 oil, but firing the shots does not. Improvements:

  1. Production Speed: Speeds up the production of cannonballs by 40%.
  2. Damage: Increases cannonball damage by 40%.

Sanctuary of the Believers

This has the same use case as the Sacrificial Stone; it’s only useful if you play with lambs. It costs 100 wood, 90 clay, and 30 gold. It sacrifices 1 black lamb every 30 seconds to grant you 1 morale permanently. Improvements:

  1. Production Speed: Increases productivity by 25%.
  2. Increased Morale: Increases the morale gained from sacrificing lambs by 1.

Drafting Table

Imba, just imba, and that’s it. It creates blueprints for buildings while you look at it. The production cycle is 100 seconds, it costs only 150 water, and it is extremely useful.

Hero’s Statue

This costs 120 crystals, 120 gold, and 120 wood. It’s a very useful building, but only if you have plenty of wood. It provides stat boosts to warriors for 200 wood while you are looking at the statue. The production cycle is 70 seconds. Upgrade:

  1. Production Speed: Speeds up the production of improvements by 25%.

Statue of the King

If you love to play around the skills of your king, then this statue is for you. It costs 300 ore and speeds up the cooldown of the king’s ability for 2 crystals per second while you look at it. Improvements:

  1. Crystal Purity: 25% chance to get an additional 1 crystal for each cycle.
  2. Inspiration: Passively increases damage and health of champions by 5%.

School of Magic

This is the weakest and cheapest of the spell-producing buildings. It costs 50 gold and 40 wood. It slowly (110 seconds) casts basic spells for 30 crystals. Improvements:

  1. Capable Students: Speeds up casting by 25%.
  2. Illusion of Choice: Instead of casting a random spell, it gives you a choice of spells.

College of Magic

A stronger version of the School of Magic. It costs 250 crystals and 250 gold and casts basic spells in 55 seconds for 45 crystals. Improvements:

  1. Capable Students: Speeds up casting by 20%.
  2. Illusion of Choice: Lets you choose your spell instead of receiving a random one.

University of Archmages

The final version of the magic-producing buildings. It costs 100 oil and 300 gold and generates legendary spells (1 spell in 80 seconds for 75 crystals). Improvements:

  1. Hasty Archmages: Speeds up casting by 20%.
  2. Illusion of Choice: Lets you choose your spell instead of receiving a random one.

We’re done with the infrastructure guides… It remains to analyze the “Other” category, as well as my own category.
